Sail 2010
aug 19 - 23
Amsterdam IJ harbour

The 8th edition of SAIL will take place from 19 to 23 August 2010. For five days long, the Amsterdam IJ harbour will serve as the backdrop for a festive programme full of music, culture and nautical riches.
As in
previous SAIL editions Tall Ships will arrive from all around the globe.
This means that besides the Dutch Tall Ships you will have
a chance to admire impressive windjammers from countries such as Australia,
Brazil, Norway, Romania, Russia and the Ukraine.
In addition to the Tall Ships hundreds of boats will be on the water every day. A large part of the unique collection of Dutch sailing heritage will be shown, and there will be a variety of modern ships and various impressive naval ships and replicas.
Sail 2010 includes a extensive accompanying programme on the wharfs, with activities, performances and expositions for young and old, and there's a daily closing ceremony with a fireworks show.
Not to be missed is the SAIL IN Parade on August 19, which will see all participating ships navigating the Noordzeekanaal from IJmuiden to Amsterdam, a truly spectacular view.
