most prestigious hotel, built in 1867 on the quiet and beautiful banks of
the river Amstel, slightly out of the city center. The Amstel offers every

you with your favorite CD's to make you feel at home. As you might expect,
this is celebrity territory. La Rive is

former City Hall in the medieval city center has been converted into a truly

'Cafe Grand' offers excellent food at moderate

Hotel KrasnapolskyDam 9 (554 91 11 / fax 622 86 07). Large hotel in a late nineteenth century building occupying one side of Dam square, directly opposite the Royal Palace. The hotel's centerpiece is the beautiful atrium with its steel-and-glass roof, housing the Victorian Wintertuin ('Winter Garden') restaurant. Excellent business facilities. elegant late-nineteenth century hotel still retains its original atmosphere,
making it second-only to the Amstel hotel in style and elegance. De l'Europe
offers chic lodgings in a convenient location, and has an attractive outside
terrace overlooking the river Amstel. Excelsior

but intimate first class hotel comprising 24 seventeenth-century canal houses.
The Pulitzer has spacious and modern rooms, yet the narrow hallways and
steep staircases contribute to its classic canal house atmosphere. Rooms
overlook the water or the very pleasant inner garden. Not all rooms can
