Reguliersdwarstraat 44 (689 70 70).
map
The latest addition to the popular Reguliersdwarsstraat area is a large three-in-one; grand-cafe during the day, where you can have a late breakfast, lunch, sip a coffee and read the papers, a restaurant during the evening, and a trendy bar at night, when the reading table collapses into the floor to form a dance floor. Predominantly gay public.
Open daily 10am-1am (3am weekends).

Blender
Van der Palmkade 16 (486 98 60). map
Quite a trek out of city center, but worth it, this loungy restaurant which 'blends fine cuisine and tunes'. Excellent French/International cuisine by former Bordewijk cook Edo. The restaurant itself is a large circular shape, centering around kitchen and bar, with a bit of a nightclub atmosphere. DJ's during the weekend. Nice outside terrace during summer.
Open 6-11pm, closed Mon.

Kingsclub
Lange Leidsedwarsstraat 43-1 (no phone). map
A short climb up takes you from away from the party noise of Leidseplein into this intimate lounge bar. This is of course a good place to sit back and relax, treating yourself to a cocktail or one of the home made appetizers. Every weekend the tables are set aside and it's time to dance.
Open daily 9pm-3am (4am weekends).

Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 169 (622 75 10). map
© Sjoerd van Luijn Think old fashioned nightclub, with comfortable plush seats and velvet draperies, all in red of course, and appropriate soft lighting. DJ's during the weekend, so the more adventurous can dance in between the loungers. Thai snacks on order, prepared by Rakang and served on a plate so that you can enjoy while remaining comfortably seated. Expect to queu.

Open daily 8pm-3am [4am weekends].

Nomads
Rozengracht 133 (344 64 01). map
Team Supper Club created another hip restaurant, this time above club More, and it's decorated like something out of Arabian Nights. As you could expect dinner is had lying down. It is not so much the food, but rather the see-and-be-seen atmosphere that counts. If your lucky you might catch a glimpse of a belly dancer. A good place for a pre-club dinner of course. A little on the expensive side.
 Open daily 7pm-1am, Fri-Sat 3am, Sun 4-11pm. Closed Mon.
